KIET Group of Institutions, Delhi-NCR, Ghaziabad celebrated Teacher’s Day and Engineer’s Day on September 18, 2024, on campus to commemorate the achievements of hardworking educationists and engineers of the nation. The event marked an occasion to felicitate faculty members and students in the field of education and research.
The event began with Saraswati Vandana and lamp lighting ceremony in the presence of Chief Guest Dr Sanjay Kumar Pandey (Scientist-F, Secretary Aeronautical Research & Development Board, DRDO), Shri Sarish Agarwal Ji, Chairman- KIET, Dr. Preeti Bajaj, Director General, and Dr. Anil Ahlawat, Director Academics.
Further, Shri Sarish Agarwal Ji felicitated Dr Sanjay Kumar Pandey (Chief Guest) with a shawl and a memento as a token of reverence.

Dr. Vibhav Sachan, Dean ECE and Dean R&D introduced the preamble of the programme to the audience, said “On the momentous occasion of Teachers and Engineer’s Day celebration, we are felicitating educators, who have contributed to shaping the future of our students as well as supported in advancements in research & innovation”. Dr Ruchita Gautam, Additional HoD ECE, briefed about the policy along with the basis of shortlisting of awardees for the ‘Best PhD Supervisor/ Co-Supervisor Award and CV Raman Award’.

Dr Anil Ahlawat, Director Academics and Senior Professor, CSE; Dr Vineet Sharma, Professor & Dean CSE; Dr. K. L. A. Khan, Professor and Dean IEC were honoured with the Best PhD Supervisor/ Co-Supervisor Award. On the other hand, five faculty members received the CV Raman Award. These members included Dr Vipin Kumar (Professor AS & Associate Head, DRC), Dr Surendra Kumar Keshari (Associate Professor, IT), Dr Sweta Shukla (Assistant Professor, AS), Dr Rohit Vashisht (Assistant Professor-Research, CSIT), Dr Amit Kumar Arora (Associate Professor-Research, KSOM).
This was followed by felicitating PhD Awardees for the academic year 2023-24 along with the felicitation of the students with Research Incentive Awards.
The programme moved ahead with Research Consultancy Rewards and Awards, wherein Dr. Anuj Pathak, Assistant Professor, KIET School of Pharmacy, bagged the best consultancy award.

While addressing the audience, Dr. Pandey emphasised the importance of innovation and invention. He said “The students, these days, are opting for computer science only, causing the focus to shift from science/ engineering to salary packages. We must understand that computers alone, cannot do anything; it requires the skills of different branches of engineering. Therefore, on the occasion of the Engineer’s Day celebration, I advise students to focus on core engineering.”

Towards the end, Mr. Rishi Malhotra, Head HR thanked all the dignitaries, faculty members, and students for joining the celebration and rejoicing in the achievements of the institute as a family. He also thanked the faculty and staff members involved in the planning and execution of the programme in a smooth sailing manner.
