The program started with a tree plantation drive in the institute campus, in which the senior officials, teachers and students of the institute together planted various types of shady, medicinal and fruit trees. The aim of this plantation effort was not only to increase greenery, but it was also an important step towards connecting the coming generations with nature.

After this, essay writing competition and poster making competition were organised by the students on the topics “Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji: A Visionary Statesman and his Pioneering Role in Nation Building”, “Say No to Plastic, Say Yes to Planet” or “From Pollution to Solutions: Eliminate Plastic Waste Now”.

A street play was also presented in the program, in which students gave effective messages on topics like environmental imbalance, plastic pollution, deforestation and water crisis through acting.

Dr. Manoj Goel, Joint Director of the Institute, said, "Protecting the environment is not just a one-day activity, but it is a continuous process. We have to take small steps in our daily lives that are in harmony with nature. This year's Environment Day is especially important as it is being celebrated during the birth centenary year of Bharat Ratna, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji. Atal ji's life has been a symbol of dedication towards nature, culture and national service. His philosophy inspires us to establish harmony between environmental balance and development."

This initiative by the Institute was not only an important step towards environmental protection, but it also proved to be an empowering factor in the personal development and sense of social responsibility of the students.
