JEE Main Toppers’ Tips for Aspirants

Om Prakash Behera, who secured AIR 1 in JEE Mains 2025, stated to Careers360 in an exclusive interview, “NCERT books are the best for preparation. Most of the questions are from the NCERT Class 11 and 12 syllabus. Besides, I devoted almost 16 hours daily to get the rank in the JEE Main exam.”

Another JEE Main topper, Shaksham Jindal, mentioned his preparation strategy in an interview with us. He spent his last month solving the previous year's question papers and suggested to JEE Main 2026 aspirants to work on managing the 3 hours of examination. Only then can they score good marks. Further adding, he dedicated around 14-15 hours to studying every day.

Our next JEE Main topper, Rajit Gupta, states in the interview that ‘happiness is the key to my success’. While preparing for the JEE Main exam 2025, he tried his best not to repeat the mistakes. He says, “I believe the foundation of subjects becomes strong only when mistakes are removed”. He also added that he avoided unnecessary pressure by studying only when he felt like studying.

JEE Main 2025 topper, Harsh Rawat, has revealed in the interview that he has invested 12-13 hours in study daily. He also added that practising multiple JEE Main mock tests, sample papers, and questions from previous years helped him crack the exam. And he made sure to do revisions daily

Arnav Singh, another JEE Main 2025 topper, stated that he would take his homework very seriously and complete it after his classes every day. He further adds that “having doubts and clarifying them increases one’s grip on the topic.” Arnav’s mantra of success is ‘regular hard work’.

Our next JEE Main 2025 topper, Ahmad Shayan, believes that” right mentorship and guidance give an extra edge for a national-level exam like JEE Mains”. He has gone through thousands of mock tests while preparing for the exam. At the end of the interview, he adds, “The right teacher will tell you whether you should focus on high-weightage chapters or complete the entire syllabus based on your abilities.”

Amidst all the preparation and study hours, students are advised to take a break from the monotonous routine to keep up with the momentum. Even our JEE Main toppers stated that they took breaks from their busy schedule to de-stress. Some took time to talk with their family members and played every Sunday with their friends. Also, they took time to enjoy their hobbies now and then. Further, they practised yoga for 10-15 minutes, to relieve themselves from the everyday study routine. Therefore, while preparing for the JEE Mains exam, students must prioritise a balanced routine between study and rest. Only then can students keep up the pace and concentrate more on their studies.
