Amrita Scholarship Eligibility

Scholarships for GATE and Non-GATE Students at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham

• Scholarships for GATE-Qualified Candidates

• As per AICTE norms, GATE-qualified candidates are eligible for a Post Graduate Scholarship of ₹12,400 per month.

• All M.Tech. programs at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham are AICTE-approved for GATE scholarships.

Scholarships for Non-GATE Candidates

• Non-GATE students can apply for Merit or Endowment scholarships available for various programs.

• Students also have opportunities to pursue dual degree programs with universities in Europe, the US, and Australia.

Scholarship Categories:

• Endowment Scholarship:

  • Available for 10 programs.

  • Awarded to the top 40% of eligible students in each program.

Merit Scholarship:

• Available for 25 programs.

• Awarded to the top 30% of eligible students in each program.

What is the non-scholarship category in Amrita University

The Candidates pursuing any undergraduate, postgraduate or PhD programme in Pharmacy, Nursing or any other Allied Health Sciences specialisation are considered a non-scholarship category under Amrita University. Further, anyone whose qualification percentage is below 70 will not be eligible to apply for a scholarship under Amrita University.

Amrita Scholarship Criteria

Scholarship awards are still largely based on merit. It is open to any student in any school, Meaning anyone with excellent performance can apply even though the amounts and the number of scholarships differ with the academic school or department. Thus, applicants have to present attested documents to meet the necessary stipulations of academic and scholarly standards among other requirements. The percentage of students that will be awarded scholarships depends on the school that they attend and the field of specialization.

The university fully supports the principle of affirmative action so that scholarships should be provided to OBC, SC/ST, and other tantamount categories as per the GOI norms. Every year some percentage of scholarships is provided to these categories of students.

This includes women, persons with disability and persons experiencing system related barriers. By doing this, the university also guarantees any such groups within that institution deserve equal treatment and should be freely offered scholarships without prejudice.

Amrita University Financial Aid

The university seeks to support a financially sound and fair policy for students based on merit, need, equal opportunities, and affirmative action for disadvantaged minority students. According to the policy, nobody should be discriminated against in students or scholars based on their gender, gender identity, caste, age, religion or invalid.

Amrita Scholarship Application Process

Students can apply for the scholarship by collecting the relevant application form from the departmental office. The department will also provide a list of the existing scholarship schemes that the candidate can apply for. According to the chosen scheme, each student must provide all the necessary documents personally. Such documents include proof of merit, merit based scholarship recommendation letters, government approved documents for members of backward classes and any other document which is required for other backward classes.

To apply for an Amrita scholarship, follow these steps:

• Contact the official of the concerned department office of the Amrita University in which you are studying.

• Ask for the application form which suits the scholarship scheme of your choice.

• For this reason, the department shall present to you a list of scholarships that are available for application, from which you will make your selection.

• Make sure to complete the submission of all documents as expected by the scholarship’s authority. They may include bank statements, academic transcripts, or any other supporting documents.

• Ensure that the details you put in the application form are true and then attach the necessary documents to the form and take it to the department office.
