    JEE Advanced Counselling and Seat Allotment 2026 - JoSAA has released the JEE Advanced seat allotment for round 2 on June 30. The JEE Advanced seat allotment 2026 link can be found at josaa.nic.in. After the allotment of seats is done, candidates will have to accept the seats and pay a seat acceptance fee by July 3, 26, 2026. Only candidates who have qualified for JEE Advanced 2026 are eligible to participate in the counselling process and secure admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). To take part in the admission process, candidates must complete online registration, fill out and lock their preferred choices, and follow the counselling schedule prescribed by JoSAA.

    JEE Advanced Counselling and Seat Allotment

    The counselling procedure includes registration, choice filling and locking, seat allotment, seat acceptance, payment of the seat acceptance fee, document verification, and reporting to the allotted institute for final admission. JoSAA will conduct the seat allocation process in five rounds. The official counselling brochure, detailed schedule, and seat allotment dates have been released by the authority. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official website for the latest updates regarding IIT admissions through JEE Advanced.

    JEE Advanced Counselling and Seat Allotment 2026 - Eligibility Criteria

    Candidates must check the requirements specified by the authority for JEE Advanced counselling 2026. Below is a list of the eligibility criteria for the JEE Advanced:

    • Candidates should have attempted and secured a qualified rank in JEE Advanced 2026.

    • At least 75% of aggregate marks should have been secured in the 12th standard (or equivalent) examination. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories should have secured 65% marks OR

    • Candidates belonging to the category-wise top 20 percentile in their respective 12th standard (or equivalent) board examination will also be eligible for the counselling and seat allotment of JEE Advanced 2026 process.

    JEE Advanced Counselling and Seat Allotment 2026

    Candidates who will have a valid score in JEE Advanced must register for the counselling and seat allotment. The JoSAA 2026 registration and choice filling is open in online mode. Candidates should follow the given steps to complete JEE Advanced counselling and seat allotment:

    Procedure of JEE Advanced 2026 Counselling and Seat Allotment

    Step 1 - JEE Advanced Counselling Registration 2026- The very first step that candidates need to follow for JEE Advanced counselling and seat allotment is registration. Candidates will have to use the JEE Main roll number and JEE Advanced password as credentials while logging in. Reconfirm it once you have checked all the filled details.

    Step 2 - Filling and Locking of choice - After registration, candidates will have to select the college and courses of their choice from the available ones and once the choice has been made, lock it.

    Step 3 - Allotment of Seats - The authorities will allot the seats according to the merit, preferred choices, category, and availability of seats. There will be a total of six rounds and after each allotment, candidates will have to choose their option from float, freeze, and slide. The authorities will conduct a mock JEE Advanced 2026 allotment to make candidates aware of their probable allotment as per the choices they made. This will allow them to make changes to their choices. Candidates will be able to check the JEE Advanced seat allotment 2026 online.

    Step 4 - Reporting at Centres - After the allotment of seats is done, candidates will have to download their allotment letter and have to pay a seat acceptance fee. Candidates will have to carry their documents to their respective centres where the verification will be done.

    JEE Advanced Rank List 2026

    Students can check the JEE Advanced 2026 rank list online. The authority will release the JEE Advanced rank list 2026 along with the results. Candidates who will be listed in the JEE Advanced 2026 rank list will be eligible for the counselling session. The category-wise minimum prescribed marks by the authorities are to be secured to be listed in the JEE Advanced 2026 rank list. Students need to enter their application number and date of birth to check the JEE Advanced 2026 rank list.

    JEE Advanced Counselling 2026: List of documents for verification

    Below is the list of documents that candidates need to prepare for JEE Advanced counselling. The following original documents along with the photocopies have to be kept at the reporting centres for verification:

    • Seat Allotment Letter

    • Admit card of JEE Advanced

    • Proof of Date of Birth: Class X/HSC/Birth Certificate/Any other certificate as proof of date of birth

    • Photo Identity Card

    • Class XII/SSC/Equivalent exam Mark sheet and Certificate of passing

    • Proof of seat acceptance fee payment

    • Two passport-size photographs

    • Category Certificate (OBC (NCL)/SC/ST/PwD/DS) issued by the competent authority

    • Duly filled Medical Examination Report

    • For foreign nationals: Attested photocopy of the page in the passport containing name, photo and nationality
