WBJEEB has uploaded the WBJEE 2026 Marking Scheme on the official website, wbjeeb.nic.in. Candidates can check the WBJEE 2026 information brochure to check the marking scheme of the exam. The marking scheme for WBJEE 2026 consists of the total marks, section-wise and question-wise marks and marks for correct & incorrect responses. The marking scheme is mentioned as a part of the WBJEE 2026 exam pattern. The total marks for the WBJEE 2026 exam are 200, and the duration is 4 hours. There is also a 25% of negative marking in the Category 1 and 2 papers of the WBJEE exam. Hence, candidates should be familiar with the WBJEE marking scheme. The WBJEE 2026 exam is scheduled on May 24, 2026.

Types of Questions in WBJEE 2026

According to the paper pattern, the MCQs included in the WBJEE question paper will be from one of the 3 categories. Each category has a different marking scheme and negative marking policy:

  2. Category 2 – Only one correct option (higher weightage compared to Category 1, more analytical questions)

  3. Category 3 – More than one correct option possible

Advantages of Knowing the WBJEE 2026 Marking Scheme
